ANTT and Ministry of Transportation work to reposition auction for 2024
The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and the Ministry of Transport report that the BR-381/MG concession project, which was due to be auctioned off this Friday (24), has not received any bids. The deadline for bidders to submit their envelopes was midday on Tuesday (21).
The federal government remains determined to find a solution to modernize and adapt the capacity of BR-381. This is the third attempt to auction the stretch between Belo Horizonte and Governador Valadares. The previous ones took place in 2013 and 2022.
We are going to resume dialogue with the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) in order to create the necessary conditions to make private investment viable. The Ministry of Transport and ANTT are working to reposition the project and put it up for auction in the first half of 2024.
