Meeting aims to bring together entities linked to land transport to draw up regulations on ESG parameters<\/p>\n\n

The director of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) Felipe Queiroz, accompanied by the Agency’s technical advisors, led Participatory Meeting No. 2\/2024 to discuss the proposed regulation of ESG parameters and incentives in highway and railroad contracts, on Monday morning (25).\nAmong the guests were representatives from the Ministry of Transport, CNT, Infra SA, ANTF, ANUT, among others. <\/p>\n\n

The cause of action and the objectives to be achieved set out in the draft regulation are:<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  1. Pollution inherent to land transport modes (especially road transport) – Objective: Mitigate greenhouse gas emissions;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Climate change and extreme weather events – Objective: To strengthen the resilience of infrastructure;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The need to make credit contracts more attractive, cheaper<\/em> and faster – Objective: To improve compliance with sustainability standards in order to facilitate faster and cheaper access to credit;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Negative impacts on the population affected by the concessions – Objective: To promote a positive social impact.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    At this stage of the procedure for new ANTT regulations, a draft Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA) has been drawn up, to be analyzed by representatives of the invited entities.\nThe draft is an object of preliminary discussion with the market, users, suppliers, service providers and other stakeholders<\/em>.\nThe agreed deadline for contributions is April 15. <\/p>\n\n

    Once the contributions to the draft resolution have been received, internal consultation will begin, with contributions from peers and other ANTT organizational units.\nAfter the internal analysis, the Social Participation and Control process will begin, at which point a Public Hearing on the subject will be scheduled. <\/p>\n\n
