President Lula and Transport Minister Renan Filho take part. Winners of the auctions held last year, Infraestrutura Brasil Holding XXI S.A. and Consórcio Infraestrutura PR will be responsible for managing the set of roads for the next 30 years
A ceremony is scheduled for this Tuesday (30) at the Planalto Palace in which the Federal Government officially transfers control of the highways that make up lots 1 and 2 of the Paraná highway system to the companies that won the auctions held in August and September 2023. The Minister of Transportation, Renan Filho, is taking part in the ceremony alongside the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The projects drawn up under the model of the new road concession policy developed by the Ministry of Transport were marked by the unprecedented combination of state and federal roads. Over the next three decades, the road systems will be managed by two companies entering the sector: Infraestrutura Brasil Holding XXI S.A., which won Lot 1 and will manage the asset as Via Araucária concessionaire, and Consórcio Infraestrutura PR, which won Lot 2 and will manage it as EPR Litoral Pioneiro.
The companies will invest R$30.4 billion – including investments and operational services – in the 19 stretches of road that make up the two lots of roads, benefiting residents of 41 municipalities in the area covered – around 6 million inhabitants.
The ceremony will also be attended by the director general of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), Rafael Vitale, the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior, parliamentarians from Paraná’s federal representation in the National Congress and municipal managers from the region. The event will be followed by a press conference.
