Often touted as an efficient solution to Brazil’s logistical bottlenecks, multimodality still faces notable obstacles to becoming a reality in the country – especially considering the imbalance in the transportation matrix. According to Dom Cabral, road transport accounts for more than 60% of the cargo handled in the country, but if iron ore – a predominantly rail cargo – is excluded, this percentage is close to 95%.
